Our heart is to serve

Here’s the short list of how we’ve been able to serve this past year.

Serving the Elderly

/

A few times a month we visit a Senior home. The residents are there because they don’t have family or friends to take care of them. We go to sing songs, play games, share Bible stories, and build relationships. During the holidays we do special outreaches where we have a lot of fun with our senior friends. Since we started going, we’ve had opportunities to pray for, and encourage, those that are sick and in pain. Our hope is that our friends at the Senior home will see the love of God in our relationships.

Working at the Venture Hosea Center

/

Krista works Tuesday through Saturday at the Hosea Center, an after-school program for children ages 5-16. She teaches English, plans activities, and prepares art projects. She works with our Thai and foreign staff to share God’s love with the children in that community.

Building Venture Team Thailand

/

Aaron and Krista spend a lot of time at the Venture Int’l office working with the 4 Thai, and 8 foreign staff. Aaron leads the weekly team meetings while Krista takes the minutes. Aaron works with the Thai Foundation Administrator to manage the office, plan an annual staff retreat, and more.

Working with Venture Partners

/

Six-to-eight times a year we visit Venture partners in SE Asia to serve, encourage, and document their work. We are blessed to work with our partners in Nepal, Myanmar, Laos and the border regions of Thailand. Often we will work with them to distribute Feed My Starving Children Manna Packs to children living in refugee villages or poor communities. The food provides necessary nutrition for health and allows the children to focus on school. Watch Solomon’s Story or Rosebell’s Story.

Serving at Church

/

Our family has been serving at our church since we’ve arrived in Chiang Mai. Aaron has preached a few times and Krista teaches Sunday school regularly. Our kids participate in the holiday outreaches. Our pastors are amazing leaders and friends. We support them in any way that we are able. We also help some of the Thai kids with tuition for school and financially support some of the Thai staff.

Hosting Teams

/

Aaron will host a team from America a few times a year. He sets up the trips, organizes the activities, and travels with them. When teams come, they visit the border-regions of Thailand and do outreaches and distribute food.

Teaching

/

Both Krista and Aaron teach regularly. Krista is tutoring at the Hosea Center and teaching English to grade 7 at the local Thai school. Aaron teaches Adobe design programs to Venture’s Thai staff and other local professionals.

Learning Thai

/

We are blessed to have the same Thai teacher that Krista’s parents had when they moved to Thailand over 20 years ago. Our Thai teacher is a good family friend and we try to bless her as much as she blesses us. We’ve met with her weekly since we moved to Thailand. We are able to read and speak basic Thai, but recognize we sill have a lot to learn.
